Goa House congratulated PM Modi, LoP Rahul Gandhi

Panaji: Goa Legislative Assembly on Monday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “a historic third consecutive term” in the central government.
The House also congratulated Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for being elected as Leader of Opposition in the Parliament.




The monsoon session of the state legislative assembly which met on Monday unanimously passed the resolutions congratulating both the leaders, along with other congratulatory motions.

The congratulatory motion was passed on the floor of the house which reads “this House congratulates Shri Narendra Modi ji, on being sworn in as the Hon. Prime Minister for a historic third consecutive term on the 9th June, 2024, at Rashtrapati Bhawan at New-Delhi.”

The House also congratulated Rahul Gandhi on his election to the post of Leader of Opposition.

In other congratulatory motions, the House congratulated Om Birla to have been elected as Speaker of Lok Sabha and all the elected MPs of 18th Lok Sabha.
The motion congratulating L K Advani, former Deputy PM of India for being conferred the prestigious Bharat Ratna award, was also passed.

The House also congratulated CM Dr Pramod Sawant and State health minister Vishwajit Rane for installation of Health ATM machine at Primary Health Centres at Mayer and Chodan in North Goa which will help the public to diagnose various illnesses.

The Assembly also congratulated State tourism minister Rohan Khaunte for being bestowed with the prestigious award for “Excellence in Governance” for the region of India for his work in the Tourism sector at the ITB (Berlin) Trade show in March, 2024.
