Panaji: Goa government on Wednesday decided to go through the decisions taken by various State Boards and also consult the Union Human Resource Development ministry before taking call on the examination of twelfth standard of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday held meeting with the officials from the Board and State Education department to decide on the pending examination of twelfth standard of GBSHSE.
“We have three suggestions in front of us right now. One is to cancel the examination, second is to declare result on internal assessment of marks and allow those to appear for examination, who wants to opt for it and third is to declare both the results (internal assessment and examination) together,” Sawant said.
He said that Goa government will study the decisions taken by Boards from other states and also will consult Union Human Resource Development Ministry by evening before taking the call.
“We will take the call by evening on this matter,” he said adding that all the three suggestions are being weighed by the state.
He said that 21,000 students are eligible to appear for the twelfth standard Board Examination.
“CBSE has merely declared that they are cancelling 12 th Board exams but have not issued an official circular of the same hence, the secretary of education is continuously following up with this regards. we will likely come up with a final decision by today evening:,” he said.
“We are also considering various examination that a Science students has to answer like JEE, NEET etc, hence decision on twelfth standard examination will be taken today considering all the factors,” he concluded.
