Panaji: Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) on Friday approved for implementation various infrastructure projects worth Rs 149 crore in the coastal state.
The 206th Board meeting of GSIDC was chaired on Friday by Chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant. Vice Chairman of the corporation Kedar Naik was also present for the meeting.
The state spokesman said that several important infrastructure projects aimed at public convenience, urban rejuvenation, and institutional development were approved for implementation during the meeting which includes construction of new boys hostel at Goa medical college at Bambolim, near Panaji, with an estimated cost of Rs 113 crore.
He said that the meeting also approved for implementation, the demolition and reconstruction of a bridge at St Estevam village in North Goa costing Rs 21 crore.
The meeting also approved the development of Old Bus stand at Margao in South Goa with an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore, he said.
The spokesman also said that the work of ancillary and maintenance of Ravindra Bhavan at Sankhalim (North Goa) costing Rs three crore was also approved in the meeting.
The other works which were approved includes upgradation of Municipal market at Sankhalim and redevelopment of Old Government Buildings in Margao, including Old Collectorate Building, Police Headquarters. The cost of these projects is yet to be estimated, he said.
The spokesman said that the chief minister addressing the Board said that these projects are part of the Government’s commitment to upgrade civic infrastructure, improve public utility spaces, and build modern, accessible facilities for our people.
He emphasized that GSIDC continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Goa’s infrastructure with quality and speed and that the Govt. is committed to delivering timely and efficient public infrastructure for a Viksit Goa 2037.
