Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said that the state will challenge the District Court’s order acquitting Journalist Tarun Tejpal before the High Court.
“We will not tolerate any injustice to be meted out to women in Goa. We will challenge the District Court order before the High Court soon,” Sawant told reporters.
He said that he has personally discussed the issue with Public Prosecutor and the Investigating Officer about challenging the verdict in the High Court.
Sawant said that at a personal level, he had confirmed that such a case could not be acquitted considering the kind of evidence produced against the accused.
