Panaji: Shiv Sena in Goa has welcomed gesture of CM Manohar Parrikar to attend the office on the first day of the year, but has said that similar action should have been followed by other ministers.
“Parrikar’s arrival at Secretariat should be taken as an inspiration by rest of the inefficient cabinet of ministers who have failed to govern the State contributing for the woes of the people living in the State,” Shiv Sena Goa Spokesman Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik reacted.
She said that this year, Sena expects the government to solve the crisis faced by mining industry which has been demanding resumption of the activity. The people dependent on this industry are waiting with eagerness for Centre to find solution and for that the ministers in State government should make all out efforts.
“Sena also expects the doubts over the fish be cleared once for all and State government should certify that the fish that is being sold in Goa’s market is free from formalin. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane should come clear on what mechanism he has put in place in the markets to test the fish that is imported in the State,” she added.
Naik said “We also expect Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar to urgently meet Tourism Stakeholders and understand their problems. Try to know why international travelers have shown their back to Goa’s beaches and what can be done to make Goa not so expensive destination.”
“The ministers should get down to their jobs as soon as possible as mere enthusiasm of the Chief Minister is not enough to take ahead the governance.
The minister like Nilesh Cabral should pull up their sleeves and work on reducing the woes of the power consumers,” Sena has said.
“We also expect that the New Year will come with a non-corrupt police force who will respect Human Rights and stop asserting their powers on innocent people by beating them up in the custody. Sena also expects police to deal with Iron hand against the law breakers who go around mercilessly hitting people,” Naik added.
