Goa Forward raises issue of hawkers along roadside in Ponda

Ponda: Following several complaints by the pedestrians and others, Goa Forward Party today met Chief Officer of Ponda Municipal Council over the shifting of hawkers along the roadside causing traffic congestion.

GFP leader Rajesh Verenkar accompanied by party’s vice president Durgadas Kamat today met PMC CO Navanath Naik to seek clarification on shifting of the hawkers in Ponda city.

Verenkar said the Naik has assured to take strict action against the hawkers clearing the road for traffic and pedestrians. He said that the PMC has not taken any resolution to shift them back on road side.

Naik also assured not to bow down to the political pressure on this issue which is concerning common people.
