Margao: Goa Forward Party has said that its ministers including Water Resoures Department minister Vinod Palekar and Rural Development Agency minister Jayesh Salgaoncar will be touring the assembly constituencies to bring governance to the doorstep of the people.
The party has said that the ministers will take up proposals from their respective departments from the locals and fulfill their demands.
“Our two ministers Jayesh Salgaoncar and Vinod Palekar would be soon touring the constituencies where GFP is gaining the ground. In few days from now, Salgaoncar will tour the constituencies followed by Palekar,” party’s Vice President Durgadas Kamat told a press conference in Margao today.
He asid that Goa Forward Party leader Yuri Alemao has given some proposals through some of the panch members, which has been submitted to WRD and RDA ministers. “This clearly shows that we are not only focusing the party in Cuncolim but we are there for serious business,” he said.
Kamat announced that the party will soon get in place its Cuncolim Block committee. “Few of the names are also sent to Women’s State Forward Committee,” he said.
“It is to strengthen the hands of young leaders like Yuri who are with the party. Tomorrow our representatives from Chandor, Sonia Fernandes, has been proposed as Vice President of Goa Women’s Forward. We are there to win the sit with the help of Vijai Sardesai,” he said.
“Every fortnightly, Sardesai has been taking stock of the development works in Cuncolim constituency.
Goa forward means serious business when it comes to Cuncolim constituency,” Kamat said.
Yuri Alemao said that Cuncolim was shining constituency and reason behind it was Joaquim Alemao.
“Lot of development had happened during his tenure and post-2012, today, Cuncolim is in a bad shape. Issues are not highlighted and proper representations are not made,” he rued.
“Today there is not a single project, that is proposed and structures that were done during Alemao’s tenure are not even maintained,” he added.
“It is a very sorry stage of affairs. These structures demand maintenance. The municipality functions in a very bad shape. The villagers of Chandor panchayat has proposed development to be taken through State government,” he said.
Through Jayesh Salgaoncar, our RDA minister, a market complex in chandor, children’s play ground, existing panchayat would be renovated and lots has been promised by him.
Yuri said “we will be touring the constituency with him in the panchayat areas.”
