Siolim: The Congress party today had hardcore supporter of Goa Forward party leader Vinod Palyekar from Siolim constituency joining them during “Jan Gan Man: Nomon Tuka Goemkara” tour.
Ashok Verenkar, who was Vice president of Goa Forward party’s Siolim block and a die hard supporter of Palyekar left the party to join Congress. He was welcomed in the party by GPCC President Girish Chodankar.
Verenkar has been one of the supporter of Palyekar who had campaigned for him during 2017 assembly election.
When contacted, Palyekar said that Verenkar had distanced from the party immediately after the elections. “He was not actively with me. He had distanced long back from the party and me after the elections,” the minister said.
He said that Verenkar’s exit will have no impact on the party.
