Goa Forward Party demanded formation of All party state advisory committee

Panaji: Goa Forward Party (GFP) on Tuesday demanded that state government should form All party state advisory committee (SAC) considering the seriousness of the looming crisis due to COVID-19.

Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai, in a statement issued here, said that due to the seriousness of the looming crisis and due to what has happened in Goa in the last couple of weeks vis-a-vis ensuring public health and public sustenance of Goans.

“Considering the type of leadership we have experienced, the GFP demands that All party state advisory committee be formed in Goa urgently,” he said.

Sardesai said that the state government failed to recognize the gravity of the health emergency and was busy with inconsequential zilla panchayat election till March 24.

He said that the chief minister refused to take the responsibility under Health Ministry’s guidelines as regards to supply of essential commodities.

Sardesai said that there is an urgent need for team leadership to help to take matured and wiser decisions. “Experience of former chief ministers will be a boon in this crisis-situation to come to matured and wiser decisions with varied and experienced inputs,” he said.

He said that shared decision making will lead to ownership of the mission by all and a sene of shared responsibility both, for its successes and failures.
