Panaji: State Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane has announced that Goa Forest Development Corporation is designated as the nodal agency responsible for all tourism-related activities within the demarcated forest areas.
Rane said that the Goa Forest Department, after discussion with the Government of India, has designated the Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC) as the nodal agency responsible for all tourism-related activities within the demarcated forest areas.
“GFDC will manage activities including waterfall circuits, trails, and treks. Dr. Deviya Rane, Chairperson of GFDC, will chair a high-level meeting with Forest Department officials, and a detailed presentation will be given to the Director General of Forest and the Union Minister for Forest, Bhupender Yadav, outlining our plans for the future,” he said.
The minister said that in a recent meeting chaired by the Forest Minister, it was stated that GFDC will be the sole authorized agency for operating in the forest areas, an MoU will be signed by the Forest Department with GFDC to oversee and manage all activities in the forest regions.
