Goa Expert Committee to meet on June 09 to discussion positivity rate

Panaji: Goa government’s Expert Committee on COVID-19 will meet on June 09 to discuss the current positivity rate and decide whether any interventions are required.

The meeting would be chaired by Dean of Goa Medical College and Hospital Dr Shivanand Bandekar.

In a notice issued to all the members on Monday, Bandekar has said that the meeting has been convened on June 09 at 4 pm in the Conference room, next to the Dean’s chamber.

As per the notice, the meeting is scheduled to discuss present COVID-19 positivity rate based on statistics , forecasting the same for the State of Goa and if any interventions are needed under present circumstances.

The committee will also discuss the status on Vaccination drive.

Meanwhile, Goa on Monday recorded 30 new coronavirus cases that raised the tally of infections to 2,46,053, an official from the state health department said.

As many as 18 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the count of recoveries to 2,41,947, while the toll remained unchanged at 3,832, as no fresh fatalities were reported, the official said.
The state now left with has 274 active cases, he said.
At least 523 swab samples were tested on Monday, taking the total number of tests carried out in the state to 19,55,717.
