Goa Court Grants Bail to Two Accused in Nightclub Fire Case

Panaji: The court in Goa on Tuesday granted bail to two managers of Birch by Romeo Lane at Arpora, who were arrested in connection with the fire that killed 25 people earlier this month.

District Judge Dvijple V. Patkar granted bail to Rajveer Singhania and Priyanshu Thakur, both managers of the club, while rejecting the bail application of a third manager, Vivek Singh, on Tuesday.

The accused were arrested on December 7, a day after the fire incident at the nightclub.

Advocate Vinayak Parab, representing the accused, said that while granting bail, the court ruled that the applicants shall not, directly or indirectly, make any inducement, threat, or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case.

The court also ruled that the applicants shall not leave India without prior written permission of the court.

Parab said that the court further directed that the applicants shall make themselves available for interrogation by the Investigating Officer as and when required and shall cooperate with the Investigating Officer for the purpose of investigation.

The order further states that the applicants shall report before the Investigating Officer or the P.I., Anjuna Police Station, once a month, preferably on the first Wednesday, until the filing of the chargesheet or final report.
