Porvorim: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has said that Goa can lead the country in achieving a dream of Vikasit Bharat 2047.
Addressing the MLAs in the House, Birla also hailed Goa for holding longer assembly sessions.
Birla also said that the decreasing number of days of Assembly sessions in the country is a matter of concern. The speaker hailed Goa Legislative Assembly for holding longer sessions of more than 40 days. “Goa despite being a small state has discussions, debates and dialogues leading towards the policies for the welfare of the people,” he added.
The speaker said that all the representative bodies from Panchayat to Assemblies, would be made accountable for the people.
“If we implement all the schemes in our respective constituencies, we can achieve a parameter where Goa can achieve sustainable development goals by 2030,” he said.
Birla said that if Goa government works on fulfilling aspirations of the people, the coastal state will lead the country in achieving goal of Vikasit Bharat by 2047.
