“The exercise has been taken under Prime Minister’s flagship Jal Shakti Abhiyaan which aims to provide tapped water to all the households,” Pauskar said adding that those houses which are in the forested areas will also be covered after taking proper clearances from the authorities.

Speaking further, Pauskar said that the state government will be appointing consultants to study the feasibility of augmenting existing Water Treatment plants in the State.

“The consultant will provide report on feasibility to augment existing all the water treatment plants in the state also provide solution for the plaguing issue of high turbidity of water,” he said.

In order to tackle the issue of dry spells arising due to breakdown of pipelines, Pauskar said that a separate network would be laid which will provide alternate supply to the places which are affected.

“If not full, then at least half of the supply can be resumed through these alternate pipelines,” he said.
