Goa Assembly to have several restrictions to curb COVID-19 spread

Panaji:  Drawing several protocols to curb the infection due to COVID-19 during upcoming Assembly session, Goa Legislature department has said that only four persons would be allowed to accompany the Chief Minister in the premises of legislative assembly.

One day long Goa Legislative Assembly Session will be held on July 27.

State Legislature Department, in a protocol drawn to ensure that there is no spread of COVID-19 during the Session, has restricted the number of people for the Session.

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Rajesh Patnekar and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will be allowed to carry only four personal staff along with them to the complex building.

The protocol further reads that each minister would be allowed to be accompanied by two personal staff while MLA will have one person each accompanying them to the assembly building.

The department has banned entry of public or visitors during the assembly session.

Also, only those government officers connected with the business to be transacted on the day of Session will be allowed to attend.

The department has also said that “any person or official visiting assembly complex without wearing masks/shields will not be allowed to enter the assembly complex.”

“Social distancing to be strictly followed by all the entry points and throughout their stay at the Assembly complex on the day of session,” the advisory reads.
