Panaji: Goa has activated its lifesaving machinery on the Beaches as the coastal state is getting readied to face impact of Tauktae cyclone.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that the team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has already arrived in the state on Saturday.
The team comprising of 22 personel are armed with lifesaving equipments, which can be used during any eventualities.
In a video message released on Saturday evening, Sawant said that the Lifesaving machinery on the Beaches have been activated under State Tourism Department.
The control rooms are also set up at District and Taluka level, which would be functional round the clock, he said.
He said that the NDRF is working in coordination with the State government’s departments including Electricity, Water Resources Department and Disaster Management Cell.
Sawant said that the state has already issued precautions to various sectors including Fisheries.
The Fishermen have been adviced against going in the Sea for next three days.
He said that the people living in the coastal belt and also river banks should take abundant precaution.
The Chief Minister said that a communication plan with early warning and alarm has also been activated.
State Ports Department has alerted all the ships.
