GHRC orders police not to harass relatives of Zenito Cardoso

Panaji: Goa Human Rights Commission  has asked police department not to “harass the complainants unnecessarily” in connection with the petition filed by close relatives of Zenito Cardoso, who is wanted in connection with the gang rivalry case.

Advocate Vahida Yalgar represented the relatives before the GHRC.

The relatives had filed complaint before GHRC against SP North Utkrisht Prasoon, Old Goa Police Inspector Krishna Sinari and Calangute Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo for verbal abuse and harassment in police custody.

GHRC had issued notices to the trio asking them to file report on July 27.

The respondent have sought time to file reply. But the commission as directed the trio not to harass the complainants unnecessarily and to adhere to provisions of law in case of police wants to call them for investigation.
