Panaji: Hours after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) offered for pre-poll alliance with Congress and like-minded parties for upcoming Goa Assembly elections, Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai said that he is ready for the ties.
Patel on Sunday had said that NCP tried to have alliance with Congress during 2017 Goa assembly election but it did not work out during last minute. He also recalled that NCP, Congress and GFP together were having majority on the floor of the House after 2017 election results, but still could not form the government.
On Monday, Sardesai tweeted “The truth in @paful_patel’s words today is that in 2017, I tried my best, at personal cost, to forge a coalition Govt against the BJP until the last minute. The truth remains that in 2022, I’m open to do that to remove this anti #Goemkar Govt and uphold the will of the people.”
Congress had won on 17 seats, GFP on three and NCP on one during 2017 Goa polls. The delay on the part of the Congress to decide their Chief minister had forced GFP to support BJP who then formed the government under the leadership of Manohar Parrikar.
