Margao: The geometrics of all the Nallahs in Margao will be reviewed and necessary steps will be taken to modify the same as per changing times and need stated WRD Minister Filip Neri Rodrigues while laying the foundation stone of the Multi-Purpose Cyclone Shelter at Margao today. This shelter project worth Rs. 4 crores will be undertaken under National Cyclone Risk Management Project.
Margao MLA & Leader of Opposition Digambar V Kamat, Local Councillors Avinash Shirodkar, Doris Teixeira, Deepa Shirodkar, Manoj Masurkar, Damodar Naik & Ex. Councillors Laxmikant Kamat and Damodar Shirodkar were also present during the function.
WRD Minister praised Digambar Kamat for his positive support in finding suitable land to construct the shelter and assured the people of Margao that any issues pertaining to WRD Ministry will be taken up on priority.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat speaking on the oaccsion stated that this shelter is the need of the hour, specially during heavy monsoons. The hardships faced by people during monsoon floods in low lying areas to find safe shelter will now come to an end once this structure is completed. Digambar Kamat also informed about various developmental works under progress in Margao and requested people to co-operate with the authorities for speedy completion of the same.
