Colvale: Goa police have arrested four persons including a minor boy for throwing Ganja rolled into balls in the premises of high-security Central Jail at Colvale in North Goa.
Superintendent of Police (North) Rahul Gupta told reporters on Wednesday that the arrests made after seven balls of Ganja were found in the premises of the central jail by the security guards posted there. He said that the contraband was found on Tuesday by the Guards.
He said that four accused including a minor boy were found to be throwing these Ganja balls in the premises of the Central Jail standing outside the compound wall.
Gupta said that the police have arrested Gautam Talwar, Samuel Pujari and Jaffer Mulla, all from the town of Mapusa in North Goa and a minor boy after the investigation revealed that this gang had thrown balls inside the compound wall during the wee hours of Tuesday.
He said that the seven balls were lying in the passage area of the inner corder between watch tower number three and four.
Total Ganja weighing 1.397 grams worth Rs 1.40 lakh was seized through all these seven balls. All the accused are booked under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, the SP said.
