Vasco: Verna police busted an illegal betting racket on an Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Sancoale, arresting four persons during a late-night raid.
The accused were caught accepting bets on a match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. Police seized gadgets and cash worth around Rs 2.5 lakh.
The arrested accused have been identified as Pranjal Tiwari (23) from Uttar Pradesh, Amar Dawda (33) from Chhattisgarh, Shashank Kumar Sahu (19) from Uttar Pradesh, and Sandeep Singh (23) from Uttar Pradesh. All were staying at a rented premises near Bhoj Naik House in Shindolim. Further investigation is underway.
