Fort Building Competition: MLA Raja Singh to Attend Event in Goa

Bicholim: The Akhil Gomantak Shivpremi Organization, in association with the Directorate of Archives and Archaeology, Government of Goa, organised a state-level Fort Building Competition last year on the occasion of Diwali to instil a sense of valour among the youth.

A total of 152 forts were created from across the state, and the competition received an enthusiastic response. The results have already been declared, and the prize distribution ceremony will be held on April 3 at 4:00 PM at Ravindra Bhavan Sankhali.

A key highlight of the event will be the presence of Raja Singh Thakur, MLA from Telangana, who will attend as the chief speaker and guide participants.

Special guests will include Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phaldesai, BJP MLA Krishna Salkar, President of the organisation Sanket Arsekar, and National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Ramesh Shinde. The information was shared by Vice President Rajendra Desai.

Other members present on the occasion will include Satyavijay Naik, Sujay Desai, Narayan Nadkarni, Manoj Gavkar, Swapnil Naik, Ichchhit Phaldesai, Suchandra Agni, and Mithil Desai.

The Goa government has recently declared Mardangad Fort and Hatkataro Khamb as protected monuments under the Goa Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1978, ensuring their conservation and preservation.

On this occasion, Krishna Salkar and Subhash Phaldesai will be felicitated for their support towards the conservation of Mardangad. The competition was conducted at both community and individual levels, with 58 participants at the community level and 94 at the individual level.

The organisation has appealed to all participants and Shiv devotees to attend the prize distribution ceremony in large numbers.
