PANAJI: Trouble mounted for co-owner of Birch by Romeo Lane at Arpora night club, Ajay Gupta, as the local police have booked him under the offence of forgery of documents.
Gupta, who is currently in the custody of Anjuna police, had a case filed against him at Mapusa police station in North Goa for forging documents.
A senior police officer said that the case of forgery has been filed against Gupta after it was found that he had used a fake health certificate to obtain the trade licence for the controversial nightclub.
A total of 25 people were killed in a fire at Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub at Arpora on December 6.
He said that the fake health certificate was revealed during the investigation.
Gupta was arrested in New Delhi on December 10 after the FIR was filed against him.
