Panaji: JMFC Vaishali Lotlikar on Saturday heard final arguments on the petition filed by Adv. Aires Rodrigues seeking a Court monitored investigation into the last November 27th attack on him. The JMFC has reserved her orders for June 11th.
While Adv. Rodrigues argued that the politically very influential accused who attacked him are being shielded by the Police with no action having been taken despite several months having elapsed, Crime Branch Inspector Dattaguru Sawant submitted to the Court that the case was being investigated properly.
On a complaint filed by Adv. Rodrigues the Old Goa Police on 28th November last year registered an F.I.R under Sections 452, 341,506,336, 323 read with 34 of Indian Penal Code against Swapnil Dhargalkar, Shreha Dhargalkar and two others for having trespassed and attacked Adv. Rodrigues in his office at Ribandar. The investigation was later transferred to the Crime Branch.
Stating that the pre-planned November 27th attack on him at his office by Siolim based Swapnil Dhargalkar, Shreha Dhargalkar and two others was at the instance of State Fisheries Minister Vinod Paliencar, Adv. Rodrigues has sought that the Court monitor the investigation as the accused who attacked him are politically very connected.
