Panaji: Goa Crime Branch on Thursday arrested six persons, originally hailing from Gujarat and Nagaland for running a fake call centre racket and duping citizens from the USA.
Police spokesman said that officials of Crime Branch led by Police Inspector Vishwajit Chodankar raided a place at Chinchwada, Chimbel busting a fake call centre racket on Thursday.
During the raid, police arrested Akash Pancholi (28), Thremho Kechingba (23), Sanam Ringsa Bathari (23), Anand Sujeet Sengyung (26), Lairim Monmohan Hojai (19) and Hemring Sonai Girisa (22) from Ahmedabad and Nagaland were found to be operating a fake call Centre duping US National citizens on the pretext of approving their loans, medical billing advances etc.
Police spokesman said that six laptops with its accessories along with mobile phones, all worth Rs 10 lakhs, were seized.
