Panaji: Goa government should bring in the experts’ team to handle the ever worsening COVID-19 crisis situation in the State, Goa Forward Party has said on Tuesday.
GFP President Vijai Sardesai, talking to reporters, alleged that the COVID-19 response in the state has been “messed up” due to coterie of four persons including Chief minister, Chief Secretary, health secretary and Margao based doctor.
“Government should bring in experts’ team to take charge of the situation instead of bureaucrats.
There are so many medical experts who can drive the covid response,” Sardesai said.
The former deputy chief minister pointed out that there is a huge backlog of testing. “They should first clear the backlog of testing,” he said.
Sardesai said that the government stop politicizing the covid response.
“I urge the government to take all the political parties on board. If you don’t do, then your sincerity is in question,” he added.
Sardesai said that there are several scams which are being executed during the COVID-19 situation.
“There was quarantine-gate. If you don’t take everyone into confidence without politicizing the covid response, it will clearly be seen where your sincerity is,” he said.
