Karmali: Konkan Railway today marked another significant milestone in passenger
amenities with the inauguration of the Executive Lounge at Karmali Railway
Station, further strengthening its commitment to providing world-class
facilities to railway passengers.
The Executive Lounge was inaugurated by Shri. Sadanand Shet Tanawade,
Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), in the presence of Shri. Rajesh
Faldesai, Hon’ble MLA of Cumbarjua Constituency, Shri. Sunil Gupta
Director (Operations and Commercial) Konkan Railways and Shri. Kamalaksh
Naik, the Licensee and authorized operator of the lounge. Several senior
officers and officials of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited were also
present on the occasion.
This newly inaugurated lounge is the 8th Executive Lounge established by
Konkan Railway, reflecting the organization’s continuous efforts to enhance
passenger convenience and travel experience across its network. The lounge
is open to all railway passengers at an affordable entry fee starting from ₹50
per hour, making premium facilities accessible to a wide range of travelers.
The Executive Lounge offers a variety of modern amenities designed to
provide comfort and convenience, including:

* High-speed Wi-Fi connectivity
* Comfortable sofa and recliner seating
* Clean and well-maintained washrooms
* 24×7 café services
* Digital train timetable displays
* Shower facilities and refreshment packages
* A relaxing environment for passengers awaiting their trains
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries appreciated Konkan Railway’s
consistent focus on improving passenger facilities and creating comfortable
transit spaces for travelers.
Goa, being one of India’s most prominent tourist destinations, receives a
large number of domestic and international visitors throughout the year.
Facilities such as Executive Lounges help travelers relax, refresh, and work while waiting for their trains, thereby significantly enhancing the overall
railway travel experience.
The initiative reflects the vision of Shri. Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman and
Managing Director of Konkan Railway, who has been instrumental in
strengthening passenger amenities across the Konkan Railway network.
The lounge has been allotted through the official tendering process to Shri
Kamalaksh Naik, an experienced entrepreneur associated with several
railway hospitality projects across India, who will operate and maintain the
facility.
The opening of the Executive Lounge at Karmali has been warmly welcomed
by passengers and local residents alike and is expected to become a
valuable facility for travelers visiting Goa through Konkan Railway.
