Panaji : The electricity department has claimed that power supply has been restored to 98% consumers in Goa except for a few houses at Anjuna, Cansa-Thivim, Agassaim, Canacona, Quepem and sanguem.
The department claimed that power to these places would be restored by Thursday (Today) evening. Meanwhile Goa Aam Aadmi Party Convenor Rahul Mhambre has slammed MLA of Mapusa Joshua De Souza who allegedly had spoken about underground cabling in 2019.
“It’s more than 100 hours. Mapusa is in darkness. The woes of Mhapshekars continue under successive BJP MLA ” said Mhambre in a tweet.
Earlier, De Souza said that the Government has sanctioned Rs 131 Crore for Mapusa underground cabling in 2019. “Power woes will be resolved; work will take two years to complete, the work is expected to start soon” he had said.
Local residents of Mapusa have claimed the current fluctuates, especially last night during the wee hours they had to face this issue.
Residents of Verem, Nerul, Reis-Magos and Pilerne are also facing electricity issues.
