Bharani — On the occasion of Independence Day, Bharani Primary School in Kanakavali Taluka of Sindhudurg district organized a special program where educational materials were distributed to students by the school’s alumni. Additionally, cash prizes were awarded in memory of the late Vedic scholar Sadashiv Salaskar, sponsored by the Salaskar family. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, former students, and members of the construction workers’ community.
Present at the event were Village Sarpanch Anil Bagwe, former Panchayat Samiti member Ganesh Tambe, social worker Vivek Tamhankar, School Management Committee Chairman Prakash Bagwe, Vice-Chairperson Sneha Ghadigaonkar, Deputy Sarpanch Prashant Ghadigaonkar, Headmaster Kashinath T. Kalsulkar, teachers Laxman Rane, Rajan Rasam, Aradhana Rasam, Gram Panchayat members Praveen Jagtap, Vaidehi Pujare, Manisha Tambe, as well as Construction Workers’ Union President Santosh Pawar and Suvarna Pawar, among other dignitaries.
While addressing the gathering, Sarpanch Anil Bagwe appealed to villagers and alumni to come together for the overall development of the school. He acknowledged the valuable support provided by construction workers and expressed hope for continued contributions in the future.
Former Panchayat Samiti member Ganesh Tambe highlighted the support extended to the school so far and assured that he would remain committed to its future progress.
Social worker Vivek Tamhankar stressed the importance of starting a reading class and setting up a mini-library to foster the intellectual growth of students. He also proposed initiating the distribution of educational materials on the very first day of the next academic year to reduce the burden on parents.
The distribution of educational materials and cash prizes was made possible through the generous support of alumni and social worker Vivek Tamhankar, Ashok Ghadigaonkar (District Vice President, Construction Workers Union), Sarpanch Anil Bagwe, Deputy Sarpanch Prashant Ghadigaonkar, Police Patil Anand Tamhankar, Prachi Salaskar, Swapnil Bharankar, Chandrakant Ghodgekar, Deepak Pawar, Akshay Chinchwalkar, Rupesh Jagtap, Sanjay Thukurul, and Praveen Shivaji Jagtap.
The program was compered by teacher Rajan Rasam, and the vote of thanks was delivered by teacher Laxman Rane.
