Panaji: Deputy Collector and Sub Divisional Magistrate Shashank Mani Tripathi has ordered Old Goa police to investigate the complaint of fraud samaj certificates which are being given by Vasco-based person.
The complaint was filed against Andrew D’Cunha, who was issuing certificates in the name of Christian Association of Backward Classes by St Cruz based social activist Domnick alias Inacio Pereira.
The same certificate was taken as a base by the state authorities to issue Samaj certificates based on which several people had contested recent panchayat election from the reserved wards.
“Find enclosed herewith the complaint received from Inacio Domnic Pereira on the above cited subject. In this connection, you are hereby directed to enquire the matter and take necessary action at your end,” DyCollector Tripathi has ordered.
The case against D’Cunha was originally filed with Vasco police station who refused to entertain it forcing the complainant to approach SDPO Sunita Sawant who asked them to file it with Crime Branch.
The Crime Branch then forwarded it to Panaji Police Station, which is yet to file FIR. The complainant had moved to the deputy collector for required directions.
