Fatorda: MLA Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday gave a deadline of six hours for the Margao municipal council to clear the garbage from SGPDA market, failing which he will employ private contractors to clear it.
Sardesai said that if Margao municipality does not clear the garbage, then Fatorda residents will not pay the taxes.
The Fatorda MLA was responding to the current stand off between Margao Municipal Council Chairperson Damodar Shirodkar and the SGPDA. Digambar Kamat mentored Margao Municipal Council has refused to lift the garbage from the SGPDA creating filth and around the facility.
Sardesai recalled that Digambar Kamat had joined BJP with the claim that he wants to bring in development in Margao. “He was speaking about triple engine. But now all the engines have failed. Digambar Kamat has failed PM Narendra Modi’s Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan by resorting to such actions,” the Fatorda MLA said.
