Margao: Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat has appealed the traders and businessmen from his Margao Assembly constituency in South Goa to voluntary go for a week long lockdown to break the chain.

“My responsibility as Member of Legislative Assembly of Margao Constituency is to ensure safety and security of Madgaonkars (Margao residents),” Kamat said in a media statement issued here.

“I have already appealed to the Government to extend the lockdown in Goa but it appears that irresponsible BJP government is in no mood to listen,” he said after CM decided to lift the lockdown from tomorrow, Monday onwards.

“My humble request to businessmen, traders, small occupationists from Margao to go for voluntary lockdown for a week from tomorrow which will surely help in breaking the chain of rapidly spreading covid infections,” Kamat added.
