Goa: The Department of Tourism, Goa, has asked organizers of the ‘Sunburn Festival 2023’ to comply with a series of conditions before granting permission for the festival. The festival between December 28 and 30, this year, is proposed to be held at Vagator, Anjuna, Bardez, Goa.
While giving provisional permission to the festival, the department has listed twenty-eight conditions to be fulfilled by the organizers before being granted a final permission. Among the conditions are that the entire festival area should be preferably a no-smoking zone, approach the traffic cell for effective traffic management and parking for the entire area and communicate the same to the department. The organizers submit a Disaster Management Plan and drawings of stages and structure stability report.
The organizers have been asked to ensure there is no use or consumption of illegal substances and drugs in any manner at the event, that no sound pollution should be caused and that the organizers would be responsible for the safety of the participants, spectators, and the general public in the event.
Additionally, the organizers are to ensure that the event will not host any obscene display, acts or speeches that will malign and damage the image of the government. The provisional permission goes on to state that the Government of Goa will have the right to stop the event in case of a breach of these terms and conditions.
As and when the final permission is granted, it is subject to the terms and conditions being cancelled, revoked, or modified in the interest of national security or violation of the terms and conditions. In case of a violation, the department of tourism has reserved the right to cancel or revoke the permission of the event and the security deposit of the organizers will be forfeited.
