Chandor: Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias seems to be playing a double role when it comes to hotmixing of State Highway 8 at Chandor. While he has allegedly instigated the crowd against the local Sarpanch for not taking up the work of the road, the noting moved by him to PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has specifically said that the hot mixing of the road should not be done.
The note dated May 15, 2018 moved to Dhavalikar has said that during the meeting held at Club Hall Chandor on May 9, 2018, it was decided not to hot mix State highway 08 in view of queries raised by local villagers of Chandor.
Hence it is decided to carry out other works in the said tender, which are not connected to the State Highway 08.
“In connection with the same, it is requested to carry out the hot mixing of work of the areas around Chandor Church, infront of St Anthony Chapel, Cavorlim connecting road to MDR 42 and behind fish market road at Chandor, as there will be saving in execution of hot mix item pertaining to the work of widening and providing hot mix carpet State highway 8 from Chandor Cotta bridge to Savio Henrique’s residence in VP Chandor in Cuncolim constituency,” the letter reads.
“These roads are proposed to be hot mixed as they are in bad condition with plenty of pot holes,” Dias has said.
“Hence I kindly request your good self to issue necessary directions to the concerned authorities to do the needful, as this additional work will have no financial implication since the work is taken up as hot mixing of State highway 8 is dropped,” he added.
