COVID19: Visiting hours of GMC suspended, authorities to stamp passengers who are adviced home quarantine

Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that state will start stamping all those passengers at the airport, who have been adviced home quarantined, on lines with the initiative taken in Maharashtra.

Rane said that adequate pro-active steps are taken to ensure that everyone including domestic travelers are screened at the airport.

He said that the state government has also asked its officers and ministers not to travel outside the state till restrictions are on.

State government has also suspended the visiting hours in its hospitals including Goa medical college and hospital, while only one attendant per patient is allowed to be present in the hospital.

Rane said that the private hospitals are also roped in, who will be creating isolation wards and providing their manpower to service them.

The minister said that State Legal metrology department and Health Department will initiate drive to crack down on all those pharmacies who over price the commodities like masks. “We will cancel the licence of all such pharmacies immediately,” he said.
