Panaji: Goa reported the highest ever spike in the number of COVID-19 cases with 506 people testing positive on a single day on Sunday, while three people succumbed to the infection.
Health Department said that 193 people had recovered from the infection taking the total of such patients to 5995.
With 506 new infections, the number of confirmed cases for the infection have gone up to 8712 while total number of people who died due to infection has touched a mark of 75.
“Out of 3474 samples tested on Sunday, 1788 are negative while reports of 1180 are awaited,” an official said.
A 50-year-old man, a 84-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man died due to the infection.
