Panaji: Goa recorded highest number of deaths on Tuesday with three people succumbing to COVID-19 infection during the day when state traced 174 new infections.
State Health Department, in a bulletin issued here, has said that 174 new people were found positive while 88 were sent back from different covidcare centres after their recovery.
During the day, 65-year-old man from Zuarinagar near Vasco town, which is a covid hotspot, succumbed to the infection at ESI hospital, a facility specially designated for the purpose.
Two others including a 65-year-old woman and 51-year-old man died due to COVID-19 infection. While former died on her way to ESI hospital, latter was brought in dead at Sub District Hospital in Mapusa town (North Goa).
