Panaji: Goa Education Department on Tuesday cancelled all the examinations upto standard eighth in the wake of current alert due to possible spread of Coronavirus.
State Education Director Vandana Rao, in a circular issued on Tuesday, said that the examination for classes upto eighth standard stands cancelled and the examination for classes from ninth to twelfth including board exam will be held as per schedule with the protocol of maintaining distance of one meter between the students to be followed strictly.
She said that the circular has been issued as Union Ministry of health and family welfare’s guidelines for effective social distancing to curb spread of Covid-19.
State government has already ordered closure of all the educational institutions along with other places like gyms, pubs, clubs, public swimming pools, casinos and others.
Goa has not reported any positive case for coronavirus infection.
