Panaji: Two days after the crucial meeting between Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik and Chief minister Pramod Sawant over COVID-19 outbreak, the Raj Bhavan has said that both the leaders have pledged to continue to work in full cooperation and synergy.
The statement comes at the backdrop of the Governor, speaking to media on Thursday, claiming that Pramod Sawant led government had error of judgment in tackling the pandemic, due to which the numbers have scaled up.
Secretary to Governor Rupesh Kumar Thakur, in a statement isused here on Saturday, has said the Chief Minister (once again) met the Governor on Friday to discuss the whole ranging issues related to the pandemic situation in the state.
“Yesterday (Friday), the Hon’ble Chief Minister met the Hon’ble Governor at Raj Bhavan and discussed whole range of issues pertaining to COVID-19 management in the state,” Thakur has said.
The release further adds “The Hon’ble Governor extended his full support to the Government in its fight against the pandemic.”
“The Hon’ble Chief Minister assured that the observations/suggestions of the Hon’ble Governor would be acted upon by the Government in right earnest,” it adds.
“The Hon’ble Governor and the Hon’ble Chief Minister pledged to continue to work in full cooperation and synergy in order to win the battle against the contagion and in the interest of the state,” the press release adds.
Governor on Thursday had criticized Sawant led government claiming that the state got relaxed, when it was not supposed to have been. He was referring to the declaration of Goa as Green Zone in May month and subsequent spike in the COVID-19 cases.
