COVID-19: 196 new cases, 143 recovered, one death

Panaji: Total 196 new cases of COVID-19 positive persons were reported in the State on Monday, taking the tally of confirmed cases to 3,853 in the coastal state.

State Health Department, in its bulletin released on Monday evening, said that 196 new cases were detected in the state, while 143 people were sent back home after their recovery.

A 29-year-old man who was tested COVID-19 positive succumbed to the infection at ESI hospital in Margao. He became the 23rd person to die due to COVID-19 infection in the state.

“Out of 4,287 samples tested on Monday, 1,506 are negative and 2,585 reports are awaited,” the health bulletin reads.
