Panaji: Days after AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal hinted that his party will bid for  one of the Lok Sabha seats in Goa as a part of INDIA bloc, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Patkar has said that his party will stake claim on both the seats.

Patkar told PTI that his party will be staking claim on both the Lok Sabha seats as a part of INDIA bloc.

“We have good voter base in both the constituencies. Our High command knows about our strengths in both the constituencies,” he said.

The GPCC chief, however, added that the final call would be taken by the party High Command.

While North Goa Parliament seat is currently represented by the BJP, the South Goa seat is having Congress leader Francisco Sardinha as the MP.

Kejriwal during his recent Goa visit had told reporters that his party will stake claim for one of the Lok Sabha seats in Goa. The party currently has two MLAs in state legislative assembly while Congress has three.
