Panaji: In a major political stunt ahead of BJP National President Amit Shah,

the Congress party today paid tribute to first state chief minister Dayanand Bandodkar and also sought his divine intervention to have chief minister for the state.

The Congress leaders paid floral tribute to Bandodkar at his ‘samadhi’ at Miramar praying for his divine intervention to impress upon Shah to give Goa a chief minister.

“We have petitioned everyone including Governor seeking to have full time chief minister in absence of Parrikar but nothing seems to be working. So we have now finally come to the late former chief minister,” GPCC Chief Girish Chodankar said.

All the party office bearers and MLAs have sought the intervention to Bandodkar to prevail upon the ruling dispensation to appoint a chief minister. “The government has MGP as a part of it, which was formed by Bandodkar. But that party also does not have guts to ask for the chief minister,” he said.

We also appeal Shah to open his eyes and see the situation in Goa, which is marred by misrule, he said.

Chodankar said that the congress will take this agitation to the state level.

Former chief minister Digambar Kamat, leader of opposition Babu Asgaonkar, and others including Ramakant Khalap spoke on the occasion.
