Panaji: The congress party in Goa is all set to welcome BJP national President Amit Shah on May 13, with a protest demanding a full-time Chief Minister for Goa.

The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) under its newly appointed President Girish Chodankar held its first meeting today, wherein it was resolved to demand with Shah for a full-time Chief Minister for Goa.

Addressing media post meeting, Chodankar said that State is without Chief Minister for last three months and there is complete administrative collapse. “Though, we sympathize with Chief Minister’s health, the State cannot be held for ransom,” he said.

Chodankar said that party will on Sunday demand before Shah that BJP and its allies be asked to elect a new State leader. “BJP’s national slogan has been…first country, then state and then individual. But in Goa, it seems to be completely opposite. For one individual the entire people of Goa are taken for granted,” he said.

He said that since Shah was the mastermind behind stealing the people’s mandate given to Congress party in 2017 polls, he has to ensure that there is Chief Minister to lead these people.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is currently undergoing treatment in USA.

While Chodankar refused to state as how they are going to put across their demand before Shah, sources reveal that a black-flag protest is planned on Sunday to welcome Shah.

“We will announce our action on Sunday,” Chodankar said.
