The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has set in motion a comprehensive exercise for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat (ZP) elections with a twin focus on candidate selection and direct voter outreach.
Two separate but highly productive meetings were held at the North Goa District Congress Office and the South Goa District Congress Office, chaired by GPCC President Amit Patkar along with the respective District Presidents. These meetings saw enthusiastic participation of block presidents, grassroots workers, and senior functionaries. Deliberations focused on identifying strong, credible candidates and finalising strategies to strengthen connect with voters in every village.
The Congress Party is fully prepared on the ground to face the ZP elections with confidence. Our priority is to ensure that every ZP member reflects the true aspirations of the people and works for grassroots development, transparency, and accountability.
While the BJP government continues to remain disconnected from the ground and obsessed with power politics, the Congress Party is standing shoulder to shoulder with Goans in protecting the identity, heritage, and resources of the state. Zilla Panchayat institutions must become instruments of people’s progress, not platforms for political misuse — and Congress is determined to ensure exactly that.
The resounding participation and positive energy at both district-level meetings reflect the growing trust of Goans in the Congress Party. The ZP elections will be a decisive step towards restoring people’s voice, strengthening village communities, and ensuring Goa’s future is shaped by the people, not dictated by vested interests.
