Panaji: Fumed with the betrayal by their former MLA Dayanand Sopte, who left the party to join BJP, the Mandrem Congress workers have decided to launch aggressive campaign against Sopte to ensure his defeat in the upcoming by-elections.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar chaired a meeting of Mandrem office bearers. AICC secretary and Goa desk in-charge Dr Chellakumar was also part of the meeting.

He said that the workers have decided to launch massive campaign against Sopte, which will include village level meetings and door to door campaign.

The has resolved to immediately reconstitute the block committee, which was dissolved on Friday. Booth level committees will be also constituted.
