Congress is not allowing BJP to provide solution for mining crisis: Tendulkar

Panaji: BJP Goa Chief Vinay Tendulkar today accused Congress of sabotaging the attempts to resume mining industry in Goa by not allowing the Parliament to function.

Tendulkar said that he wanted to raise  the issue about mining in Goa on December 13 during Zero Hour and also there was a question on the issue next day.

“But Congress did not allow the Parliament to function.  Our attempt is to solve the mining issue is sabotaged by Congress,” he said.

“We can solve the issue through Parliament. Let Congress allow the Parliament to be run, then we will solve the issue,” Tendulkar said.

Referring to the accusations by Congress leader claiming all the three MPs to be inefficient, Tendulkar said that the Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar should ask his Congress fellows in Parliament to stop disrupting the Session, so that the mining issue can be solved.

Speaking about the clashes between BJP and Congress workers today, Tendulkar said the protest march had all the required permissions from the authorities and it was going peaceful, till Congress leaders started instigating it.

“We had all the proper permissions for the protest march. We were walking silently amidst shouting of slogans,” he said.

“Some congress mahila workers and other workers tried to instigate us. The workers like Pratima Coutinho and one lady Kavlekar from Margao were on the forefront,” he added.

Tendulkar said BJP workers were being instigated by  slogans like Modi Chor Hai. They were also shouting slogans against BJP.

“Kavita Kandolkar, one of our lady worker was manhandled by Congress workers. Our another worker Ankit Mahatme had his eye injured during the attack by congress workers,” the BJP Goa chief said.

“ Yuva morcha worker Gajanan Tilve was also assaulted,” he added.

“We never assaulted anyone,” he said.

“They say that Vinay Tendulkar was drunk. We are not like them to drink during day on the beach and take drugs,” Tendulkar said.

“We had 40 per cent women amongst the protest. They are saying that 90 per cent of us were drunk. I condemn their statement,” he said.

Tendulkar said that the Congress was indulging in such acts as their leaders are in the race to get Lok Sabha ticket from South Goa.
