Panaji: There were hugs, smiles and all possible gestures to connect to the people. Congress today began Jana Gana Mana, Nomon Tuka Goemkara, a ‘yatra’ to reach out to the people.

The congress leaders comprising of AICC Secretary Dr Chellakumar, GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar, St Cruz legislator Antonio Fernandes were present for the starting of ‘Jana Gana Mana, Nomon Tuka Goemkara’ yatra from Panaji bus stand.

Chellakumar said that the instead of public going to the party leaders, we have decided to go to the people. “The people are actual high command for any political party and we have to respect that,” he said.

Chodankar said that the state has come to standstill in absence of the chief minister. “We have lost the productive time which could have seen development of the state. Now monsoons will come,” he said.

Kavlekar said that there is no governance in the State and people are left helpless.
