Colvale: Claiming that the inmates of Colvale Central jail were kept hungry in absence of the essential food item, Congress delegation on Saturday went with the essentials to the jail, but were not allowed to supply it.

Congress leaders comprising Sankalp Amonkar, Amarnath Panjikar, Janardan Bhandari and others went to Colvale Jail on Saturday, but had to get back the essentials which they had carried. Congress had claimed that the inmates of the Jail were kept hungry in absense of essential items.

Reacting to the incident, GPCC chief Girish Chodankar tweeted “the arrogant @GovtofGoa refuses to accept the essential commodities supplies to Colvale Jail Authorities by @INCGoa as the inmates were kept hungry for non availability of essential items because fund allocation priority of @goacm is for Casino Bhavan and for food of inmates.”
“On humanatarian ground and considering financial bankruptcy of @GovtofGoa, @INCGoa delegation led by @SankulpAmonkar @amarnathpanjika #JanaBhandari along with others had gone with food material at Central jail, Colvale. We strongly condemn the arrogance of @goacm Govt.”
