North Goa Collector has asked the Goa University to ascertain the validity of the BA degree submitted by Raymond Filipe Fernandes son of Goa’s Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes for the post of Awal Karkun. The degree submitted by Raymond Fernandes is from Lucknow based Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad that he had done his Bachelor of Arts in 2007.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues in his complaint to the Chief Secretary sought an immediate probe into the selection done last month of Raymond Fernandes for the post of Awal Karkun by the North Goa Collectorate.
Pointing out that it was a known fact that Raymond Fernandes who was a student of Red Rosary High School at Miramar had in 2001 failed the SSC exam at the first attempt, Adv. Rodrigues in his complaint stated that there was enough reason to believe that the certificates of educational qualifications submitted by Raymond Fernandes are forged and fabricated.
While demanding that an inquiry be ordered into the veracity and authenticity of the certificates submitted by Raymond Fernandes, Adv. Rodrigues also sought that the Deputy Speaker’s son be evaluated by the Goa Public Service Commission to ascertain his Intelligence quotient.
Meanwhile, Adv. Aires Rodrigues has drawn the attention of the authorities that according to the University Grants Commission (UGC) the Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad in Lucknow is unrecognized and functioning in violation of Section 2(f) and Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that evidence has surfaced that at the instance of Revenue Minister Jennifer Monseratte the Deputy Speaker’s son Raymond Fernandes was given prior access to the question paper of the written test held on 18th January this year for the post of Awal Karkun.
Adv. Rodrigues has also stated that while very qualified persons were struggling to get a government job it was appalling that the selection process is a total sham.
