Bicholim: Senior BJP leader Rajesh Patnekar today said that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar would be in Delhi to discuss the crucial mining closure issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 7.
Patnekar told this to a morcha of women who are affected with the closure of mining industry when they marched to his personal residence today in Bicholim.
“I am fully aware about the problems faced by the people after closure of the mining industry,” the MLA told them.
He said that during the recent meeting with the CM, he has assured to take up the issue with PM during his Delhi visit on July 7.
“CM has said that he would put pressure on BJP high command to solve this issue through Parliament, whether through amendment of the act or Ordinance or any other means. The issue would be taken up during monsoon session of the Parliament,” he added.
